Great Michigan Read for 2009 Stealing Buddha's Dinner
Join us as we discuss the book and prepare to meet the author. Read at home. Comment on-line. Join us on October 17 at the Penn Theater 1pm (come much earlier 11:30 am) for snacks in the park.
I read the book and was amazed at how food became such a focus for the girls. Then as I talked with others it seemed that food and family relationships were things most people remember about their childhood or miss when they travel far from home for long distances. What did you think about the book?
I have degrees from Concordia University and Madonna University. My next degree is in the works and I have supplemented with coursework from the University of Michigan and Wayne State.
Currently I am working on a project that integrates technology and the instruction of reading at the middle school level.
In the summer I educate children about herbs and plants at the Henry Ford-Greenfield Village.
